Last night was the 71st Golden Globe Awards which was hosted by the hilarious duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. See how the ladies took over the red carpet after the jump…
Tina Fey & Amy Poehler
The two hosts of the evening looked gorgeous on the red carpet and throughout the show the also had a few wardrobe changes which included Amy doing a little role-playing by changing into a man’s suit posing as Tina’s son.
Tina wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown inspired by the designer’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Her accessories were Fred Leighton jewels, she had loose curls pulled half-way back, dramatic eyelashes and raspberry lips that perfectly match the dress’s floral print complete her look.
Amy Poehler went with a simple and chic custom Stella McCartney with asymmetrical detailing and Charlotte Olympia shoes. Her hair was a perfect blowout, with nude lips and flawless skin to complete her look. During the show she also won for Best Actress – TV Series, Comedy or Musical for “Parks and Recreation”.
Looks of the Evening
Zoeey Deschanel went for a pale gold look from Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 comprised of a cropped, beaded, cap sleeve top paired with an embroidered, tulle ball skirt. She accessorised with studded Oscar de la Renta pumps, a Charlotte Olympia box clutch, and Neil Lane jewels. She added her touch of quirk with a messy side bun topped with flowers and daisy nail art.
Hayden Panettiere of Nashville wore a black & white halter Tom Ford dress with bejeweled halter detailing. Her accessories included a pair of simple black pumps, diamond-encrusted earrings and a white box clutch that completed her on-trend look. She went with slicked back hair, nude lips and voluminous lashes.
Giuliana Rancic was stunning in this dazzling wine Lorena Sarbu gown.
Kelly Osbourne made a serious statement in this black Escada gown that had these gold metal accents, H.Stern jewelry and a short slicked back do with a side part.
Sara Hyland wore a flowing flamingo-pink Georges Hobeika Fall 2013 Couture gown with shoes by Rupert Sanderson. Her crowned braid was inspired straight from the Valentino runway. She shimmered in nude makeup, which mainly focused on a strong brow as the highlight feature.
Naomi Watts wore a column halter-neck Tom Ford gown in a soft and shimmering silver beaded design, to amp up the metallic focus the neckline featured built-in bling with a gold chain halter, which helped balance the sleek sheer paneling. She accessorized with diamond stud earrings, a golden clutch and matching spiral cuff.
Taylor Swift looked beautiful in this Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2014 strapless gown—delightfully coloured in cherry-red and black that outlined the sweetheart bodice. The bustling, ball-gown skirt, which extravagantly trailed behind her, was asymmetrically gathered and draped at the right side. Beautiful gemstone earrings peeked through behind her retro curls, while a statement ring provided an edgier sparkle. Her cat-eye and ruby-red lip completed her look.
Lupita Nyong’o was the talk of the evening wearing this off-the-shoulder red silk cape dress by Ralph Lauren Spring 2014. Her jewels were by Fred Leighton, including sparkling stud earrings and cocktail rings, rounded out the look, as a necklace would have ruined the effect. She didn’t overdo her make-up and went with a metallic gold eye shadow and the subtle punch of a violet liner under her eyes, not to mention the classic red lip that completed her look.
Lena Dunham of the HBO hit show Girls, wore a canary yellow gown by Zac Posen, complete with a bustier sweetheart neckline and mermaid silhouette that were both bold and curve-enhancing on the starlette. To complement the beautiful shade of the dress, she opted for classic red nails, side-swept waves and a coral lip. To top it all off, a single strand of diamonds from Harry Winston draped around Lena’s neck to complete her look.
Elizabeth Moss was geometrical edgy in a beaded J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2014, this two-toned burgundy and black design was a bit 1920’s-inspired but made modern with a structured silhouette with capped sleeves. She added a dose of gold via a thin cuff, ring, and geometric earrings by Jennifer Meyer. Elizabeth won for Best Performance in a Miniseries or Television Film for ‘Top of the Lake’.
Amy Adams wore a red deep-v halter backless dress by Valentino Haute Couture from the Shanghai collection. She accessorized with Brian Atwood shoes, a long gold chain pendant necklace, and diamond drop earrings. Amy won for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for “American Hustle”.
Kaley Cuoco wore a floral, strapless gown from Rani Zakhem Fall 2013 Couture and Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch.
Margot Robbie wore a cream Gucci silk crepe gown with embroidered crystal and emerald gemstones. The plunging neckline and high slit are just the right amount of sexy, while the white is superbly chic, and the gem detailing is completely unique. Green Christian Louboutin ‘Volpi’ sandals, vintage jewels, rosy cheeks and lips plus a chic updo complete this stunning look.
Kerry Washington was glowing in this custom Balenciaga pale green celadon gown, accented with an embellished brooch at the bodice. Fred Leighton jewels, including chandelier earrings, along with simple, side-parted loose waves, a soft smokey eye and glossy nude lip, all paired nicely with the subtle radiance here. She accessorized with a white Balenciaga minaudière clutch and white Casadei sandals.
Julianna Margulies wore this Andrew Gn dress from the Resort 2014 collection. The black and gold design was sexy, thanks to a plunging neckline, yet chic, due to a voluminous skirt that whittled the her waist. The black dress featured a gold twig-like print on the shoulders and at the hem of the skirt. She added more glamour to her red carpet look with black and gold chandelier earrings, and a gold cuff with an on-trend dangle detail that matched the dress perfectly.
Cate Blanchett wore this gorgeous all lace Armani Privé Fall 2013 Couture gown, this sultry sophistication in a black, sheer-effect tulle and lace gown had the quality of being both darkly glamorous and delicately fragile. The back of this decadent confection featured an ever-so-artful and provocative plunge. She styled the look with Jimmy Choo ‘Esam’ pumps, but it was her statement Chopard diamond earrings that were the attention-grabbing stunners that really sparkled against the dress. She donned a side-parted, tucked-under faux bob and magenta-tinted red lip were a modern spin on the old Hollywood beauty classics that completed her look.
Reese Witherspoon wore Calvin Klein Collection viridian silk crepe t-back dress and Harry Winston jewelry. The fit and color were flattering and the t-back is a great, sporty detail. She went for fresh-faced make-up and simple hair to suit the feel of the dress.
Melissa McCarthy is wearing a custom gown that was a collaboration between herself, seamstress Daniela Kurrle, and stylist George Kotsiopoulos, Neil Lane gold jewelry, and a Jimmy Choo Bag.
Oliva Wilde was stunning in this long-sleeved, shimmering Gucci Première gown. She accented the look with a Emm Kuo clutch, Charlotte Olympia shoes and Forevermark diamonds. Her ombré hair was left down in beachy waves, and she rocked smokey eyes and a nude lip completed her look.
Julia Roberts wore a black and white Dolce & Gabbana dress over a crisp white dress shirt.
Drew Barrymore is wearing a red, pink and white confection of a gown from Monique Lhuillier Spring 2014, with floral appliques, touches of sheer white fabric, and a loosely ruffled train. She took advantage of the slightly shortened hemline to show off crimson Roger Vivier Epine Pumps, which she paired with an Edie Parker clutch and Chanel Fine Jewelry including two dazzling cocktail rings. Her look of shiny straight locks and a red lip to match her floral dress completed her look for the night.
Jennifer Lawrence wore a Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture collection gown that gathered a full-skirted dress was punctuated by two black ribbon bands to cinch in the waist and hip. She added a black clutch and gemstone bracelets, jade-tinged pair of pendant earrings provided a burst of brighter color to the ensemble, which she finished off with a deep oxblood lip and kohl-rimmed eyes. She won for Best Supporting Performance in a Motion Picture Â– Drama, Musical or Comedy for ‘American Hustle’.

Julia Luois- Dreyfuss wore a red halter Narciso Rodriguez and gold jewelry by Fred Leighton. Her pulled back hair is sleek without being severe and her make-up is simple but pretty.
Zoe Saldana wore this ballet-pink and black dress from Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2014 collection. The elegantly slim-line, pencil-skirt silhouette was given a provocative, futuristic dash of flair, given all that bold bric-a-brac that laced nearly every inch of the dress. Punched up with silver flashing at the molded bodice and glittery flowery-like embellishment, it also featured an asymmetrical, sheer lace panel that shot through the bottom half and also showed up again at the slit of the back. Matching blushing-nude heels and a pink Bottega Veneta clutch corresponded with the dress, Lorraine Schwarz diamond earrings, and a slicked-back bun and red lip completed her look.
Sofia Vergara wore a Black Zac Posen dress, with Laraine Schwartz jewels, and a beautiful turquoise statement necklace.
Jenna is wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress with Brian Atwood shoes, a Sam Lehr ring, and Irene Neuwirth earrings.
Emma Watson wore a Christian Dior Couture dress, from the front, Emma’s ribbon-tie dress was a classic standard. Of course, that’s before the thigh-high slit came into focus and the true backless nature of the design was revealed. Contrasting the languid fluidity of the gown were black skinny, cropped trousers and a sassy pair of violet-blue Roger Vivier ‘Ergo Sexy’ pumps. She completed the look with one Dior ‘Mise en Dior’ earring: two over-sized pearls decorating her left lobe. Her hair and makeup was downright pretty with her light magenta lip and sleekly effortless bun.
